Question :

What is the difference between the Qadariyyah and the Jabariyyah ?

Answer :

These are two opposite extremes.

The Jabariyya : believe that a person does not have a choice, and nor does he have a free will. And that the doer of every action is Allaah!
That the humans do not have a will and strength over anything [i.e. they are compelled].

The Qadariyya : They create a rival with Allaah, from among the slaves.
Meaning , he [the slave] does whatever he wants , without the Will and Pre Decree of Allaah The Most Mighty The Most Glorious!
And we seek refuge In Allaah.
And because of this , they have been called the majoos (fire worshippers) of this Ummah!" 1

And the Jabariyya can at times be the worst of the two : this is because he destroys the legislations of the religion, and its creed : and he frees himself of any accountability in front of Allaah ; from any sins which he has commits.
So if he fornicated, or drank alcohol, or murdered, he says : I am excused, I am compelled [majboor].
This is a religion destructed [then]!!

So they are two opposites, these ones they have extremism and going overboard , and those ones have negligence and incaution.

[1] From Ibn Umar (radhiyaAllaahu anhuma) who said that the Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said :
"Al-Qadariyya are the majoos (majians - fire worshippers) of this Ummah. When they get sick do not vist them , and when they die do not witness them [their prayer& burial]."
Imaam Al-Albaani said : It is a Hasan (sound) hadeeth : see Saheeh al-Jam'i no.4442
